If you’ve had a golden milk made out of powders, and industrial one or one made out of a readymade paste, forget about it all!

I got you the best recipe to warm up for the autumn/winter season.

It is such a nice transition as Christmas is coming up next month and we all know that this time of the year rhymes with spices, not any spices though, I’m talking here about whole and fresh ones!!!

I recommend to use almond milk as it is my favourite, it’s light and contains no cow milk but if you can’t handle nuts, oat goes just fine.

I wouldn’t recommend to use coconut milk as the flavours of your drink might tend more towards a curry than a nice sweet golden milk.

Turmeric and ginger are so great to boost your immune system and they are so rich in anti-oxidants, the black pepper will bring that warmth to your body after drinking a cup of it and all the other spices will give such delicate and powerful flavours at once!

Be careful with the fresh turmeric as it might stain your hands, I then recommend to have a whole piece with the peel on.

GOLDEN MILK for 1

- 200 ML ALMOND MILK

- 5G FRESH TURMERIC

- 5G FRESH GINGER

- 1 CINNAMON STICK

- 1-2 CLOVES

- 1 PINCH BLACK PEPPER

- ¼ VANILLA BEAN

- 1 TSP HONEY

In a mixer that can warm or in a pot, heat the milk with all the ingredients (if in a pot, the ginger and turmeric must be grated). Once it simmers, sieve and mix to get a foamy texture. Serve warm.

This can be vegan if you use coconut sugar or agave sirup instead of the honey.

It is my favourite, I used to make it a lot at work in order to start the day healthy and with warmth, the spices make you feel the warmth you need in those cold autumn winter time.

You can re-use the paste that you get after sieving as these spices are so powerful in taste!
